Alex here from the Thalia Jewelry team. I’ve spent the last two months exploring South East Asia’s stunning scenery with wide-open eyes. With every visited country providing its own unique whirlwind of creative possibilities, Thalia Jewelry is now fully stocked with ideas. From Bali’s enlightening sunsets, Laos’s hand dyed and all natural textiles, and Vietnams textures, there was never time to blink. A kaleidoscope of colors danced around me at every given moment with flavors and music to match. This truly was an incredible journey with so much inspiration to incorporate into next season’s line.

HOUSE OF FORTUNY
Thalia Jewelry designer Rachel Clinnick’s inspiration stems from the Fashion House of Fortuny. Designer Mariano Fortuny presented many talents such as painting, photography, sculpting, architecture, and etching but among those his most notable achievement of all was his strong infatuation with and dedication to fashion. Fortuny rebelled against the styles that were largely popular during his time period and focused on vivid colors, pleated hemlines, and Grecian silhouettes. His opulence in the modern era combined with timeless design is his signature. Rachel describes the House of Fortuny as iconic for all things luxury, art and design. She draws huge inspiration from their color scheme and draws from it closely in her current collection. “I just think Mariano was a master of his craft.” – Rachel Clinnick

Photo Shoot Sneak Peek
This past Monday we packed our bags full of treasures including one pair of 1940’s binoculars, a gold leafed Venetian mirror, layers of vintage frocks, and a chest carrying our jewelry, and ventured out to China Beach. Our very own designer and creator Rachel Clinnick made for the perfect model, handling the bone chilling winds and high tides impeccably. All in all a great shoot, and we had so much fun doing it. We can’t wait to see how amazing photographer William Perls photos turned out. Stay tuned for the shoots final outcome!
